A NAIT education creates opportunities.
Opportunities to gain practical skills that are in demand. The chance to access the latest technology and use it to advantage. Opportunities to make industry contacts and benefit from relevant work experience.

The Northern Alberta Institute of Technology is a leader in technical training and applied education designed to meet the demands of Alberta's industries. NAIT graduates provide the skilled workforce required to support today's global, knowledge-based economy.

Programs
NAIT confers certificates, diplomas, and applied degrees. The Institute offers some 250 programs, including 34 apprenticeship offerings, and over 1,200 continuing education courses.

Students and Staff
NAIT has over 17,500 full-time and apprenticeship students, and more than 50,000 continuing education registrations. Over 40 per cent of students entering full-time NAIT programs have previous post secondary education.
About 2,700 people work at NAIT's four campuses in the Edmonton Capital Region and campuses in Fairview, Grande Prairie, High Level, and Peace River.

Alumni
Approximately 4,000 graduates receive certificates, diplomas and applied degrees each year. In addition, each year over 2,000 apprentices complete their technical training component for journeyman certification. About 121,000 NAIT alumni work across Alberta and around the globe.

A cornerstone of Alberta's economy
NAIT can be compared to many medium-sized Alberta cities such as Red Deer and Grande Prairie. NAIT's financial impact creates a ripple effect throughout the province, creating jobs and opportunities. In the final analysis, the economic impact NAIT exerts on the economy of Edmonton alone approaches $339 million annually.

Training anywhere, anytime
NAIT expertise goes well beyond our campus classrooms into offices, shops and plants across the country and around the world. Proactive business and industry leaders look to NAIT to design, develop and deliver customized training to fit their unique requirements.
Two new NAIT in Motion mobile education units have been equipped as trade shops to bring the technology to the learner in remote communities rather than bringing the learner to the technology. The NAIT in Motion tractor-trailer units are outfitted to deliver trades-related training in millwright, pipefitting, steamfitting, gasfitting, welding, machining, electrical, and plumbing.

NAIT grads get jobs
93 per cent of NAIT grads are employed within months of graduating.
